WHY HAMAS AND HEZBOLLAH ATTACKED ISRAEL IN SUCH A RADICAL WAY KILLING CIVILIANS INCLUDING WOMEN, CHILDREN, AND BABIES?

This CBN News article gives us details about Muslims’ long-awaited Mahdi. Both Shia (Iran) and Sunni (majority of Muslims) believe in a coming Messiah – al Mahdi. He is the antithesis of our Messiah, Jesus, and a best-fit candidate for the Antichrist.

“The horrific Hamas attack on Israel was the first phase of a long-term plan by Iran to wipe out the Jewish State. Iranian leaders believe Israel must be eliminated before the return of an Islamic “messiah-like” figure known as the Mahdi. For years, Iran has been indoctrinating its fighters in the belief that there must be an apocalyptic war that destroys both Israel and Jews around the world to usher in the Mahdi’s return. Islamic expert Raymond Ibrahim says, “The Mahdi basically means ‘guided one,’. ‘ He takes on different guises, depending on which sect of Islam you ask, Sunni or Shia.” Islamic writings say his name is Mohammed Ibn Abdillah. Sunnis, the majority of the world’s Muslims, believe the Mahdi has not yet been born. Shia Islam, which Iran dominates, teaches that the Mahdi is already alive, and has been hiding for over a thousand years. Brother Rachid, a former Muslim who hosts a Christian program for Muslims called “Daring Questions,” says, “Shia Muslims, especially the ‘Twelver Shia’ believe he is the 12th Imam, and that he was born around 868. He’s still alive today. His age is 1,155. So, he’s still living somewhere and one day he will show himself.”

Muslims in Iran believe the Mahdi is hiding in a well in the small village of Jamkaran. Pilgrims peer down the well with flashlights, leave prayer requests for the Mahdi, and hope he will reappear. Muslims believe that when the Mahdi returns, he will be accompanied by Jesus, who is referred to in Islam as the Prophet Isa, to rid the world of evil.  Iranian leaders have seized upon belief in the final battle before the Mahdi’s return to motivate its military and allies to fight harder to destroy Israel.  Ibrahim says, “A lot of the Islamic schools or jihadists are being indoctrinated by Iranian propaganda into Mahdism. It always centres around Israel and attacking and destroying Israel.” Some believe in the next phase of its plan to wipe out Israel, Iran might initiate a multi-front attack through its heavily armed proxy armies in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq. Ibrahim and Brother Rachid say the doctrine of the Mahdi’s return means that any attempts by Israel to make peace with the Muslim world will ultimately prove futile. “Israel is a threat to Muslims, to the coming of the Mahdi,” says Brother Rachid. “So, they have to be eliminated. There is no other solution. You cannot do peace with Israel.” Ibrahim says.” Source: CBN News

Further proof for Muslim Antichrist is in Daniel 8 where Daniel sees a vision of a battle between a Goat (Turkey) and a Ram (Iran). Turkey (previous Ottoman Empire) will not allow Iran (Shia) to usurp its position of dominance over Muslims. It aspires to re-establish its Ottoman Empire. We are told it will be successful for a short period but then is to be broken up into four nations probably by the United Nations who would not allow another Ottoman Empire to dominate Europe.

Then the goat (Revived Ottoman Empire) became exceedingly great, but when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and instead of it there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven.Daniel 8:8

Biblical prophecy reveals that a little horn (Antichrist) arises from out of one of these four Muslim nations.

Out of one of them came a little horn (Antichrist), which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land. It grew great, even to the host of heaven.Daniel 8:9

As for the horn that was broken (Revived Ottoman Empire), in place of which four others arose, four kingdoms shall arise from his nation, but not with his power. And at the latter end of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their limit, a king of bold face (Antichrist), one who understands riddles, shall arise. His power shall be great—but not by his own power, and he shall cause fearful destruction and shall succeed in what he does, and destroy mighty men and the people who are the saints. By his cunning, he shall make deceit prosper under his hand, and in his own mind, he shall become great. Without warning, he shall destroy many. And he shall even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he shall be broken—but by no human hand.Daniel 8: 22-25

ARE YOU ONE OF THE LAST DAYS SCOFFERS? HOW DO YOU TEST FOR TRUTH?

Christians serve the One who claimed He was “the truth” and follow a book that asserts its own divine inspiration (John 14:6, II Timothy 3:16). It’s important to remember that our faith in these claims is grounded not in wishful thinking but credible facts and arguments.

First, the Bible is full of historical information that can be verified. For example, as documented by Old Testament scholar John D. Currid, “In 1868, a missionary in Jerusalem found a stone tablet for sale that appeared to be from ancient times. … On the tablet is a text written in Moabite dating to the ninth century BC.” Currid reports that the first line of the table reads, “I am Mesha son of Chemosh, king of Moab.” What’s especially noteworthy is that the tablet records Mesha’s account of a war he fought with Israel. In 850 B.C., Moab rebelled against Israel’s northern kingdom, an event recounted in II Kings 3.

Probably the most controversial Biblical truths are the worldwide flood of Noah’s day and the age of the Earth. However, finally, geologists are realising that the topography of Earth must have been formed by catastrophic flood conditions Evidence 1: 70% of Earth’s land surface is covered by sedimentary rock, Evidence 2: Underfit rivers, Evidence 3: Water gaps, Evidence 4: 40% of Earth’s land surface is covered by plateaus, Evidence #5: Absence of bioturbation in rock layers (fluvial geomorphologist Dr. Ron Neller: Flood Expert Finds Evidence for Noah’s Flood · Creation.com). Moreover, billions of dead things all over the world, fossils including fossil fuels (buried vegetation) should be evidence enough. Actual red blood cells in fossil bones from a Tyrannosaurus rex? With traces of the blood protein hemoglobin (which makes blood red and carries oxygen)? It sounds preposterous—to those who believe that these dinosaur remains are at least 65 million years old. It is of course much less of a surprise to those who believe Genesis, in which case dinosaur remains are at most only a few thousand years old.

The New Testament is also filled with reliable historical references and events. Purdue University professor Lawrence Mykytiuk has confirmed 30 New Testament figures “who can be identified in the archaeological record and extra-biblical writings.” As Tim McGrew of Western Michigan University documents, the Book of Acts alone contains literally scores of references to people, places, and events that are found in extra-biblical sources or that can still be found in the ruins of the eastern Mediterranean region.

In sum, no one can point to Scripture and dismiss its texts as founded in hearsay or third-hand reports. Similarly, the internal consistency of the Bible is astonishing, not only in what it claims about time-and-space matters but in the view of God, the universe, humanity, and redemption it presents from Genesis to Revelation. David Dockery, former president of Union University and now at Southwestern Baptist Seminary, argues that “there is a definite Christian view of things, which has a character, coherence, and unity of its own, and stands in sharp contrast with counter theories and speculations.” Dockery writes that the “Christian worldview has the stamp of reason and reality and can stand the test of history and experience. A Christian view of the world cannot be infringed upon, accepted or rejected piecemeal, but stands or falls on its integrity.”

This does not mean there are not things in the Bible that are hard to grasp. But mystery and contradiction are two different things, and an extraordinary claim is not the same thing as an illogical claim. God does not disclose everything about Himself or His plan for the world, but these things make the claims of Scripture no less true.

The Christian “lens” through which we see reality enables us to make the most sense of what we observe and experience of any philosophy or faith. As C.S. Lewis wrote, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen not only because I see it but because by it I see everything else.”

Finally, the pattern of life envisioned and encouraged in Scripture leads to human flourishing. Unlike other religions or philosophical systems, Christianity does not demand exotic forms of worship, soul-deadening stoicism, or adventures into the occult. It deals with life as it is, in the practical Tuesday afternoon realities of life. It offers joy instead of happiness, peace instead of placation, and hope instead of longing.

For me fulfilled prophecies are what convinced me the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Over 300 prophecies of Jesus first coming to Earth were fulfilled to the letter and many of the 2000 prophecies of Jesus second coming to Earth have already been fulfilled including a major one, Israel being miraculously established as a nation again in 1948 even with its original language.

Are you one of the last days scoffers?

You should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by these means, the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.2 Peter 3:2-7

ANOTHER REASON WHY GOD’S JUDGMENT IS IMMINENT

Abortion has topped several infectious diseases as the world’s leading cause of death for at least the fifth year in a row, even though multiple abortion restrictions have gone into place at the state level following the U.S. Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade.

This statistic alone tells you there is something desperately wrong with our world.

Statistics compiled by Worldometer, a database that tracks quantitative data on health, the global population and other metrics in real time, show that more than 44.6 million abortions were performed worldwide in 2023. The last available snapshot of Worldometer from 2023, captured by the Internet Archive Wayback Machine by Dec. 31, shows that the number of abortions performed last year exceeds the combined number of casualties caused by the other leading causes of death listed.

Abortion is just one of the reasons God is going to pour out His wrath upon an unrepentant world once He has rescued His saints.

Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?” Revelation 6:15-17

This scripture is at the sixth seal being removed from the scroll by Jesus. It is at the trumpet blast as the seventh seal is opened that the rapture of the Saints takes place. The dead in Christ having been raised first. The wrath of God is then poured out with the seven trumpet (Revelation 8. 9 & 11) and seven bowl (Revelation 16) judgements.

The trumpet and bowl judgements will last one year and ten days. Why one year and ten days? The year before a Jubilee year is always one year and ten days on the Jewish Calendar. The year following Jesus’ return will be a Jubilee year. Also, of significance, the length of time God poured out His wrath upon the Earth during the flood of Noah’s day was 1 year and ten days. We know that at the fifth trumpet judgement, the locusts are allowed to torment people for five months. However, the bowl judgements happen in relatively quick succession.

In the Olivet Discourse in the three gospels, Jesus tells us that the world before His return will be like the days of Noah. Unbelievers will be taken by complete surprise. Lawlessness will be rampant and the amount of time God’s wrath is poured out on the Earth will also be the same.

ELON MUSK SPEAKING GOOD SENSE

I was surprised positively by Elon’s views on birthrate, wokeness, climate change, and even AI. Sadly, he is an evolutionist, and the fact he does not fear God is a major problem. Nevertheless, I think there is much wisdom in this video hence its inclusion on my site.

GOD ESTABLISHED THE NATION ISRAEL FOR HIS PURPOSES

God chose the man Moses to establish His nation to bring them out of captivity in Egypt with great miracles. His life is miraculous from the beginning but note how God had to humble Moses after his time in Pharaoh’s court.

Pharaoh, shortly before Moses’ birth, decreed the death of all Hebrew male children. Moses’ mother Jochebed carried out a plan to save her child. She put him in a small ark and placed it in the reeds along the river hoping someone would find Moses and let him live. Pharaoh’s daughter finds the baby and immediately adopts him. Miriam (Moses’ sister), who serves the princess, suggests and arranges for her mother to nurse the child.

Moses grew up taught and trained in Pharaoh’s court. From the age of twenty to forty he was “mighty in words and deeds” (Acts 7:22). He, according to historian Josephus, became general of the Egyptian army and led a successful campaign against the Ethiopians (Antiquities of the Jews, Book 2, Chapter 10).

God then humbled him with 40 years in the wilderness as a herdsman before commissioning him through the burning bush experience. Nevertheless, he now needs Aaron as his spokesman.

After bringing the Jews out of Egypt, because of unbelief, Moses had to lead them another 40 years in the wilderness until that generation died. Because of one significant act of disobedience, God did not allow Moses to go into the Promised Land. Mind you, Moses eventually went into the Promised Land about 1400 years later with Elijah in glorified bodies to meet Jesus and three disciples on the Mount of Transfiguration.

What is astounding is that God shows Moses Israel’s future and tells him to tell it to the people before he dies and they go into their land. It is called the Song of Moses and it includes them departing from God’s commandments and being cast out of the land and scattered throughout the world. Fortunately, Moses was shown that God would eventually regather them from all around the world back to the land He had promised them. Note how the Song of Moses ends.

For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone and none is remaining, bond or free... Rejoice with him, O heavens; bow down to him, all gods, for he avenges the blood of his children and takes vengeance on his adversaries. He repays those who hate him and cleanses his people’s land.Deuteronomy 32:36, 41-43

Before Israel went into the Promised Land under Joshua they were told their entire history. No wonder Jews are still Jews regardless of where God has scattered them. Moreover, God has begun to bring them back to their land and whilst they will go through intense persecution under the Antichrist we know from Biblical prophecy that Jesus will return to rescue them at the Battle of Armageddon and set up His Millennial Kingdom.

And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be released for a little while. Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also, I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.Revelation 20:2-6

WHERE WE ARE HEADED IN 2024 AND BEYOND

Fifty years ago last week, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s The Gulag Archipelago was released in Paris. Far more than simply an account of the Soviet prison camps, Solzhenitsyn’s work still stands both as an extraordinary testimony about the past and as a stark warning for the present.

Like all of Solzhenitsyn’s prodigious output, the questions at its heart echo those Leo Tolstoy posed in War and Peace: “What does it all mean? Why did it happen? What made these people kill their own kind?”

And, it is precisely because Solzhenitsyn focused on those questions that The Gulag Archipelago is not merely a searing indictment of Soviet communism but a work of moral analysis.

The Bolsheviks’ murderous mindset did not emerge from thin air. Rather, it was the outcome of the philosophy that gained absolute sway over the “progressive” Russian intelligentsia of the 19th century. Epitomised by Nikolay Chernyshevsky’s What Is To Be Done? (1863), which Lenin considered a masterpiece, that philosophy rejected God, the notions of free will, human nature and personal responsibility, instead asserting that people’s behaviour depended entirely on their circumstances.

Chernyshevsky’s reasoning, which became an integral part of Soviet Marxism’s dogma, left no room for any transcendental morality. The contention that some actions could be absolutely right or wrong was, said Lenin, “moralising vomit”; all that mattered was their results. And since “there can be no middle course” between communism and reaction, “nothing, however vile, should be condemned that (advances) the working people’s struggle against the exploiters”.

Seen within that prism of Manichean logic, incarcerating and even executing those who might undermine “the struggle against the exploiters” was more than justifiable: it was, regardless of their actual conduct, an obligation. So when Dmitri Kursky was formulating the new Soviet legal code, Lenin cautioned him that “the law should not abolish terror; it should be legalised, without evasion or embellishment”.

The code therefore treated potential crime as crime, extending culpability to “(1) the guilty, (2) persons under suspicion and (3) persons potentially under suspicion”, with NKVD chief Nikolai Yezhov’s infamous Order No.00486 specifying that the wives of “traitors of the motherland” were to be sentenced to forced labour, and even their children, who might wish to take revenge, were to be imprisoned.

The goal of mercilessly “hanging bloodsuckers” was, wrote Lenin, to ensure “that for hundreds of miles around the people can see, tremble and cry: they are and will go on killing”. But that, explained Lenin’s close associate, Nikolai Bukharin, was not terror’s only objective: “Proletarian compulsion, beginning with shootings and ending with labour conscription, is a method of producing a communist humankind out of the detritus of the capitalist era”: millions of inmates were to be “moulded into a new type of human being”.

There was, however, a fundamental problem with this attempt to play God: even under the most horrifying conditions, its victims might resist its delusions of omnipotence. At some point, Solzhenitsyn observes, every prisoner faced a choice: should one “survive at any price”, that is, “at the price of someone else”?

“There lies the great fork of camp life. The roads go right and left: to the right – you lose your life; to the left – your conscience.”

Reality thereby put Marxism’s claim that it could secure the “total surrender of our souls” to the ultimate test – and more often than one might have imagined, when utterly powerless convicts had “to declare the great Yes or the great No”, the claim failed.

Never did it fail more frequently than with people of faith, who were largely the humble of this earth. Like the self-effacing Alyosha, the gentle Baptist in Solzhenitsyn’s A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, they were the ones with the moral courage to choose the path of truth over that of living a lie.

And while the regime’s pre-eminent intellectuals “all too often turned out to be cowards, quick to surrender, and, thanks to their education, disgustingly ingenious in justifying their dirty tricks”, ordinary “zeks” (as the convicts were known) led mass rebellions, which Solzhenitsyn scrupulously documented, for the first time, in The Gulag Archipelago’s magnificent third volume.

But there is, Solzhenitsyn well knew, “this terrible strength of man, his desire and ability to forget”; and he also knew that “a people which no longer remembers has lost its history and its soul”. He therefore dedicated The Gulag Archipelago, as record, tribute and threnody (dirge or funeral song), to “those who did not live to tell it: and may they please forgive me for not having remembered it all”.

That is why Solzhenitsyn would have been appalled by the Putin regime’s whitewashing of Soviet history, which culminated late last year in the unveiling of a monument to Felix Dzerjinski, the founder of Lenin’s secret police and of the Gulag, that Solzhenitsyn branded a mass murderer.

The duty of bearing witness also impelled Solzhenitsyn’s stark warnings to the West. To say he despised the West is nonsense. It was because he valued it so highly that he feared for its condition.

The fact that so many of its “leading thinkers (are) against capitalism”; that “under the influence of public opinion, the Western powers (have) yielded position after position”, hoping “that their agreeable state of general tranquillity might continue”; the supineness to “brutally dictatorial” China; the intelligentsia’s “fierce defence of terrorists”, “greater concern for terrorists’ rights than for victims’ justice” and habit of calling terrorists “militants” (in response to Hamas brutal attack on Israeli civilians, we get children marching for the Palestinian cause) – all these are symptoms of calamitous moral decay.

That “fashionable ideas are fastidiously separated from those that are not fashionable, and without ever being forbidden, have little chance of being heard in colleges”, only made the rot deeper and more pervasive.

Little wonder that Solzhenitsyn, having expressed those views, was savaged for ignoring America’s “vibrantly pluralistic society”, with The New York Times ridiculing his reminder that moral relativism leads to moral oblivion as the ravings of a “religious enthusiast”. And little wonder today’s Australian students are far less likely to have read Solzhenitsyn than to have pored over the idiotic scribblings of Leninism’s contemporary epigones.

Yes, Solzhenitsyn had his failings. But five decades after The Gulag Archipelago’s publication, the verdict of that other brilliant Russian Nobel laureate, Iosif Brodsky, who disagreed with Solzhenitsyn on many things, fully retains its validity.

“It is possible that two thousand years from now reading The Gulag will provide the same insight as reading the Iliad does today,” Brodsky wrote. “But if we do not read The Gulag today, there may, much sooner than two thousand years hence, be no one left to read either.”

Article by Henry Ergas AO in The Weekend Australian 05/01/2024 Fifty years on, a warning the West still needs to heed. Ergas is an economist who spent many years at the OECD in Paris before returning to Australia. He has taught at several universities, including Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

I would have liked Ergas to have made reference to how the Bible, God’s Word was treated by Communist leaders. It had to be burned/destroyed which shows they were demonically driven. They were totally under the power of Satan and his demons. Moreover, it is obvious to Ergas and should be to Christians that we are in prophesied end times and that God is refining His church, luke-warm Christians (Laodicean church) will not be raptured, before the wrath of God is poured out on an unrepentant world.

Then they will deliver you (Christians) up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.Matthew 24:9-13

PROPHESIED END TIMES APOSTASY BY CHURCHES

C.S. Lewis once observed, “Where men are forbidden to honor a king they honor millionaires, athletes, or film stars instead — even famous prostitutes or gangsters. For spiritual nature, like bodily nature, will be served — deny it food and it will gobble poison.” Just so, as God has been denied the honor He is due in the public square — as prayer and worship have been forced out of the classroom, suppressed in parliament buildings and legislative chambers, and muffled in film, literature, and art — men have decided to bestow that honor upon themselves.

Morality is not determined by the individual, by convenience, by democratic consensus, but by God.

Those entrusted with preaching and teaching His word have a grave responsibility to speak the Truth, to uphold moral clarity in a world gone mad. As long as Christian leaders remain silent, as long as they produce nothing more than ambiguities and reluctant compromises, more and more souls will turn away from God and listen to the serpent’s hollow pledge.

In 2020, the United Methodist Church announced a proposal to split the denomination over “fundamental differences,” predominantly relating to same-sex marriages. So far, nearly 8,000 individual churches have filed to leave the United Methodist Church over its progressive policies. The Presbyterian Church USA allowed the ordination of openly gay men and women in 2011 and, in 2014, approved same-sex marriages. The Episcopal Church (and Anglican Church) allowed blessings for same-sex unions in 2012. They quickly followed by permitting same-sex marriages in 2015. Of course, these moves are more than merely ambiguous and outright contradict the biblical definition of marriage. Moreover, the Pope has recently sanctified the blessing of same-sex couples, a further compromise with the world that confirms Biblical end-times prophecy of apostasy and falling away. (check out my last two posts on Apostate Pope). In the following two Scriptures, we have the apostle Paul and Jesus warning of a falling away from faith before Jesus second coming first to rescue the Saints before pouring out His wrath upon an unrepentant world.

Now brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to him, we ask you not to be shaken in mind, or be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means: for that day will not come, unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.Matthew 24:9-13

Since Western civilization rests on the back of Christianity, a lack of moral clarity from Christian leaders inevitably leads to a lack of moral clarity in Western civilization. Without that moral clarity, Western nations become uprooted from objective morality, as defined by God, and increasingly turn inward upon themselves, giving rise to the dangerous phenomenon of consent-based and consensus-based morality.

APOSTATE POPE – PROOF OF END TIMES PROPHECY PART2

Pope Francis chose Monsignor Victor Manuel Fernández, the archbishop of La Plata, Argentina, as the prefect, or chief, of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith in July 2023. He is an old friend Of Pope Francis and is responsible for the recent statement by the Pope on the blessing of same-sex couples. It has now been revealed that in 1998 he wrote the book Mystical Passion – Spirituality and Sensuality which is almost pornographic. He conflates sexual pleasure with mysticism. As the following video reveals Catholics are now horrified by the doctrinal changes he is now making through Pope Francis.

APOSTATE POPE – PROOF OF END TIMES PROPHECY

A seismic and prophetic event just happened in our culture that confirms we are in the Biblical end times. Jonathan Cahn exposes it and what it means for the end times and your future.

This is just another statement by Pope Francis that departs from Biblical truth and blesses SIN. Our civilisation is descending headlong into apostasy and rebellion against God exactly as Jesus prophesied in the Olivet discourse in all three Gospels: Matthew 24 and 25, Luke 21, and Mark 13. We cannot say that Jesus did not warn us about what Christians will face in the end times before His return including persecution/tribulation.

LIVE A HOLY SPIRIT-EMPOWERED LIFE

I have found many Christians do not fully understand what Jesus Christ provided for them when He died on their behalf. They understand that Jesus made it possible for them to receive eternal life but only in the next life hence they continue to live on in this life as they did before. Whilst they may have read that Jesus said, I must go so that our Heavenly Father can send the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit to indwell our Spirit and enable us to live the Christian life, they are quenching His work in their life (1 Thessalonians 5:19) and grieving Him (Ephesians 4:30).

The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts.” Proverbs 20:27

Note that the spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord. A lamp requires oil/Holy Spirit to function as God intended. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, the Holy Spirit departed their spirit immediately. They died spiritually then and died physically 900+ years later.

Jesus made it possible for our Heavenly Father to empower us and to produce the fruit of the Spirit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, gentleness, goodness, kindness, and self-control. The Holy Spirit also provides the gifts of the Spirit for ministry:

The Hope we have and the Power we have does not disappoint, why?

Not only that (having the peace of God), but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.Romans: 5:3-5

The Holy Spirit assures us of the Future Glory – Romans 8:18-30

And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.Romans 8:23

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.Romans 8:26-27

The Holy Spirit assures us of Final Victory – Romans 8:31-39

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 8:38-39
